David Kettler, known by his stage name Something Slow, is an ambient and experimental musician whose work is a meditative journey through soundscapes that are both cinematic and laid-back. Influenced by artists like Eluvium, Boards of Canada, Stars of the Lid, Mogwai, Sigur Ros, Lightbath, and Jogging House, Something Slow’s music is a unique blend of dynamic, ambient, and expansive elements, all with a unique emotional heart.

David’s journey as Something Slow has seen the release of three full-length albums in the “Reel” series: “Reel One” (May 2021), “Reel Two” (May 2022), and “Reel Three” (May 2023). Each album showcases his dedication to crafting music that breathes with gentle dynamics and inventive techniques. He has also released a live EP called “Live at Studio 45” (June 2024), performed as an improvised set in San Francisco.

Something Slow’s music stands out for its emotional clarity and experimental nature, never losing its heartfelt core. Each track is born from a different approach to writing and crafting, but achieves a cohesive vibe and emotionally resonant sound. With a new album “Reel Four” set to release in October 2024, and singles “Room & Board” and “Cage Match” dropping in September 2024, Something Slow continues to push the boundaries of ambient and experimental music.

In addition to his work as Something Slow, David also releases indie/soul/pop music under the name Wide Out, showcasing his versatility and passion for diverse musical expression.
